If you are the author of a business book, or you are in the process of writing, you know that writing the book is only the first step in the process. 1. Set up a WordPress blog
The purpose of this blog will be to sell you as an author and an expert in your topic. Buy a domain name that reflects either the title of the book, or contains keywords related to the book?s topic.

2. Blog about the book?s topic and your expertise
While you are writing the book (or even before you write the book if that?s possible) begin writing posts about the topic of the book so that you can demonstrate your expertise and begin attracting an audience and developing a following.

3. Blog about your progress writing the book
Writing a book is a growth process in and of itself. Periodically write blog posts about what you are learning as you are writing the book both from the perspective of a writer, and about the subject matter of the book. Have you stumbled across any interesting research? Have you met any fascinating experts on your topic? Have you discovered any startling statistics? Share previews of what you are learning and discovering and start creating demand for the book by piquing your readers? interest.

4. Post your author interviews on the blog
As you get interviewed about your book, post the interviews on your blog. Create your own opportunities and record yourself discussing the book, or ask someone you know to interview you. Research the top Internet radio shows, and traditional radio shows and get booked as a guest to talk about your book.

5. Make your book blog the hub of your book marketing efforts
Your blog should serve as the center or the hub of all of your online marketing plans for your book. When you post about your book on social media platforms, link back to your blog. Whenever you are speaking about your book, post the venue details on your blog. Link to reviews of your book, and invite your readers to post reviews.

Writing a business book is a great way to become known as an expert in your niche, but don?t wait until you?ve finished writing the book to start marketing it. A mistake that many non-fiction authors make is that they wait until they have finished writing the book to begin the marketing process. Start creating your blog and begin the book marketing process as soon as possible after you get the go-ahead from the publisher, or ?if you plan to self publish, as soon as you begin writing the book.
