John Brown University, a Christian, independent and?evangelical institution, seeks a faculty member to teach management and marketing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing teaching and direction to the areas of Management and Marketing primarily at the undergraduate level. Undergraduate courses include (but are not limited to) Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing, Retailing, Consumer Behavior, and Strategic Management. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach in various functional areas. This faculty member may also develop, facilitate, and possibly lead study abroad opportunities. Limited local travel is required as many graduate and degree completion courses are taught at University and corporate locations within the region. Faculty members are expected to contribute to university life in areas such as academic advising, recruiting for the program, and committee service. The position reports to the Associate Dean of the College of Business. The JBU College of Business offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in various formats. The Undergraduate Division of Business offers degrees (BS and BA) on the Siloam Springs campus in Accounting, Business Administration, International Business, Management and Marketing. The undergraduate Degree Completion Program offers BS degrees in Organizational Management and in Business Administration. Graduate degrees include the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Leadership and Ethics (MS-LE), the Master of Science in Leadership and Higher Education (MS-LHE), and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) with emphases in Leadership and Ethics, International Business, and Global Continuous Improvement. Delivery of degree completion and graduate programs is primarily on-site at locations in Arkansas, but online delivery is growing. Collectively, this is one of the largest programs at JBU with continuing growth in enrollment and diversity. Training leaders with integrity, character, and trustworthiness based on a Christ-centered model is a priority. JBU business programs are currently in candidacy for accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). An earned doctorate with industry experience is strongly preferred; minimum of a masters degree is required. Candidates should have significant professional experience as well as effective teaching experience in higher education and in distance learning.
